Fir Tree Primary School were so lucky to have Kev F Sutherland, the writer and artist for The Beano, Marvel, Doctor Who and many other comics to run his far-famed Comic Art Masterclasses on Tuesday 9^th March through to Thursday 12^th March 2020.

Kev worked with years 1 to 6 and taught the pupils all there is to know about making comic strips and manga, whilst having lots of fun along the way! By the end of each session each class had produced a comic containing a strip by every single one of them, a copy of which they took home, plus he drew a caricature of every one of them, including the staff.

The sessions were thoroughly enjoyable and brought Art and Reading together, with lots of pupils enjoying and using the skills that they have learnt as well as a new passion to read graphic novels.
