Welcome to Nursery - Acorn Class
Welcome to Acorn Class (Foundation 1)
Miss Eblowska and Miss Guest run Nursery together with Miss Hayter overseeing this.
We currently offer 15 hour and 30 hour funded places in Nursery for three and four year olds. Children can start in Nursery the term after their third birthday. Morning Nursery starts at 8.45am and ends at 11:45am. Afternoon Nursery starts at 12.30pm and ends at 3.30pm. Children who are in Nursery for 30 hours are in school from 8.45am until 3.30pm.
Mrs Paine will be covering in class on a Thursday.

Topic Map and Timetable
We use ‘In the Moment Planning’ and follow children’s interests, focusing on particular skills for development. Please view our class timetable in the classroom; this will show you how your child’s day will be structured at school.
Once every long term your child will be a focus child for the week. We will be observing them closely while they play to find out about their interests and how they are progressing. We send a sheet home for parents/carers to fill in as we value the knowledge and understanding you have of your child. This helps us to plan for your child’s future learning and development. We also ask that you send in recent photographs of your child enjoying activities outside of school.
Don’t forget to fill out a WOW slip when your child has a WOW moment. I love to hear about these and the children love to share them with their friends!
The children are welcome to take home any of the books from the reading corner to share at home with you. You can change these books at the beginning of every session, as many times as you wish a week.
It would be really beneficial if you could find a quiet time to share the book without any distractions. We also encourage the children to hold the book and turn the pages themselves. You could discuss with your child what is happening in the pictures or ask them questions about what might happen next.
If you feel that you would like help on supporting your child with their learning, please come and see me and I would be more than happy to help you.
