Fir Tree School

Storyteller comes to Fir Tree

In celebration of National Storytelling Week (30th January to 5th February), stories were brought to life for our Year 1 and 2 pupils, thanks to an event organised by David Wilson Homes.

We were very lucky to have Amanda – Kane Smith a professional story teller from Merry go round storytelling visit our school to deliver an interactive story telling workshop. It was highly interactive and great fun, combining music and movement with traditional storytelling and drama to create an energetic and engaging session.

The children participated in two traditional tales, Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs and a fantastic folk tale to end the session.  The children experienced first-hand how oral storytelling has allowed stories to survive and evolve over thousands of years, and across continents. A fun morning had by all!
